Our Mission
The mission of Council on Adoptable Children of Texas is to support adoptive families through education, networking and advocacy to enhance family wellness.
COAC was established by a group of adoptive families in the early 80s because they sought support from each other. Since that time, the group has worked with the state of Texas on legislative issues pertaining to foster care and adoption. Fun events are hosted for adoptive families annually. COAC is a safe place to get support and answers to tough questions. Contact us if you would like to start a small group in your area.

About Us
Council on Adoptable Children of Texas Board of Directors is comprised of parents who have adopted children from hard places. Collectively we have over 50 years of experience in parenting children who come from hard places such as abuse and neglect. All are active in their community with helping provide advocacy to help bring light to the needs of families after adoption.
We understand the need of finding your village to help you in this parenting journey. Parenting “normal” children is hard, but add medical, behavioral and mental health challenges into the mix you need to find that special village to come alongside you to help you in this journey. Let us be apart of that village.
Please feel free to reach out to us at COACofTexas@gmail.com for information, connection and resources.
